Today on Facebook, I came across a post from Sierra Harbison about the West End location of Taco Del Sol. This location has been open since at least 2021 according to Google Maps, however, they must have had something go wrong, as posted at the door is a sign detailing the permanent closure of the west location.

Locally Owned & A Good Neighbor

Taco Del Sol was started here in Montana back in 1997 in downtown Missoula, on Higgins Avenue, according to Taco Del Sol's website. Since that opening day, Taco Del Sol has expanded throughout Montana and across other states through their franchise program. Though now a franchise-based system, each location is locally owned and customized to fit the neighborhoods around it.

Remaining Locations

Right now, for Montana, here are the remaining locations:

  • Billings Heights
  • Helena
  • Missoula Downtown
  • Missoula North Reserve
  • Missoula Off Brooks
  • Missoula South Reserve
  • Bozeman 4 Corners
  • Kalispell
  • Hamilton
  • Butte
  • Great Falls

Other Amazing Taco Options

I'm not 100% sure why we Montanans LOVE Tacos... but we sure do. As you learned a few weeks ago, my go-to spot is Taco Treat on Grand, and many others enjoy the Wyoming-Based Taco Johns.

Plus, you can find more unique and fancy taco options at multiple joints around town. Last Chance Pub & Cider Mill, Jake's Downtown, La Tinga, Cafe Rio, Rio Sabinas, Don Luis and so many more.

What are your favorite taco spots? Will you miss this location, or are you excited for a new option to take its place? Let us know in App Chat or Facebook.
