Blast From The Past: Stores You Miss At The Holiday Village Mall
The Holiday Village mall was a place I would go to as a child with my parents. As a teenager, I went to buy stuff, eat, and hanging out with all of the peeps, but after a while, I saw that the mall was slowly losing businesses. One thing would go, then two things would go, then the food court was moved and gutted. There are many reasons people blame for it becoming more or less dormant. Raising rent, the economy, general lack of interest due to the internet, but that’s not why I'm here, I just plainly want to lament about the stores we used to love and maybe brainstorm what could be built into the mall in the future.
I miss the record stores, toy stores, Sherlock’s Home, Orange Julius, for some reason Sears and The Shoe Boat, and most of all, Radio Shack.
There are a few things I would love to see in the mall. One would definitely be a movie theater, second would be more restaurants to make a lively food court, and record stores. We have no record stores in the mall let alone in Great Falls (Target and Wal-Mart doesn’t count, sorry). At this point I don’t see anything cool coming in our precious mall, but never say never.
We took to Facebook to ask you, the listener what stores you miss at The Holiday Village Mall.
There were LOTS responses, Good, and bad. Let’s take a look at them.
There was a bit of light ribbing...
One from the boss herself.
Restaurants/ food courts
Consensus says Posh Taco, Herbergers, King's Table, Vanity, Bob's Pizza, and the almighty Radio Shack.
Some just want EVERYTHING back..
Our lovely mall also made Tik Tok.

Hopefully at some point the city can get it together and bring life back into the mall before someone buys it and just bulldozes it, god forbid. I know it takes money and planning when there's more pressing matters on their plate. We can hope for something cool to come along.
Until then, I'll go get a gyro and some candied nuts.
