One Montana Hospital Gets a Shocking Safety Grade
Does anyone really enjoy spending time in a hospital? I think we all try as hard as we can to stay out of them.
If you have to go to the hospital, you'd want to make sure you're getting good care, and your safety is a top priority. Well, you won't be getting that at one hospital in Montana.

Honestly, you wouldn't be able to tell a hospital isn't the best when it comes to your safety by just walking in.
That's where "The Leapfrog Group" comes in, as two times each year they release their safety grades after working with medical experts from places such as Harvard, Johns Hopkins University, and the CDC, among others.
After looking at factors such as if patients developed an infection during or after surgery, along with other safety concerns such as falls and blood clots. Plus, communications between doctors and nurses and the patient all figure into the final score.
This Montana Hospital Scored Near the Bottom in Safety
The most recent safety grades were released today (article published May 1st, 2025), and while some hospitals scored a perfect A rating, there is one hospital that was awarded a D.
One of the biggest reasons was they ranked worse than average when it came to surgical site infection.
That's not something you want to see on a safety grade if you're looking at needing surgery.
