While most people will agree infrastructure across America is in dire need of some attention, some states rank worse than others, according to a new study.

Montana residents will always joke that one of the seasons we experience here in the Treasure State is construction season.
It might be a joke, but there is a bit of truth to it, since we aren't able to work year-round we do have a construction season on our roads.
But when it comes to the problems with Montana's infrastructure, it goes far beyond a pothole or two on the road.
Why Montana Ranks Among The Worst States For Infrastructure
The American Society of Civil Engineers has recently made public their yearly Infrastructure Report Card, and America just received its highest grade EVER; sadly it's still a C.
When it comes to Montana's infrastructure, it's even worse, as we got a D-,
Giving us a ranking of 6th for having the worst infrastructure in the country, according to CNBC.
- Roads in unacceptable condition: 6.1%
- Bridges in poor condition: 6.8%
- Power outages per year: 1.98 hours
- Affordable broadband access: 49.7%
- Data Centers: 3
It may be Big Sky Country, but Montana doesn’t have much space on the ground to develop. A search of listings in early July turned up just 22 vacant commercial or industrial sites of 15 acres or larger, in a state of 147,000 square miles. Montana is also the second worst state overall for broadband access. BroadbandNow found that speeds were slow, and fewer than half of Montanans have access to an affordable plan.
