A Great Falls Man With A Lengthy Criminal Past Nabbed After Foot Chase.
a 34 year old Great Falls man is back in trouble with the law again after trying to flee police who gave chase on foot. Police were responding to a call on a suspicious person at the Northside Car Wash on 8th Avenue North Sunday night when they spotted Nathan Bayreuther who took off on foot. A police officer gave chase and after a short run Bayreuther stopped and was ordered to the ground by the officer which Bayreuther ignored. He continued to resist arrest before the officer used what he called, "significant force" to detain him.
Bayreuther is suspected of attempting to break into a coin box at the car wash. When he was searched, police found burglary tools, drugs and drug paraphernalia. He is facing seven charges today including obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools, possession of drugs and more.
When police were giving chase Bayreuther also threw four cell phones, a suspected burglary tool and box with portable speakers into the bushes. His bond has been set at $20,000.
