Great Falls Man Sentence For Beating Another Man With A Bat

A Great Falls man has been charged after admitting that he assaulted another man with a baseball bat on the Black Feet Indian Reservation.

On top of this heinous crime, the individual was also sentenced for illegally possessing ammunition.

Sentencing Of Great Falls Man Who Beat Someone With A Bat

According to U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich, 56-year-old Paul Joseph Valenzuela Was guilty in January of assaulting an individual in the Blackfeet Indian reservation, which resulted in serious bodily injury.

Valenzuela was sentenced to three years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

Case Details From Bat Beating

According to court documents, on August 23, 2023, Valenzuela and a few others arrived at the victim's residence on the Black Feet Indian reservation.

The individuals, including Valenzuela, assaulted a man identified as John Doe with a baseball bat.

He sustained injuries from the incident and was left with multiple fractured bones.

After searching Valenzuela's residence, law enforcement officials located 60 pounds of ammunition.

Valenzuela was prohibited from possessing ammunition because of the multiple prior felony convictions he had.

The case was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The FBI, Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives conducted the investigation.
