The Key to Montana Getting a Buc-ee’s: Be Conservative
Is Buc-ee's finally going to be setting up shop in Montana? Well, your answer solely depends on what you choose to believe about the state's politics.
Yeah, I know - it sounds a little bizarre and almost speculative, but nope. That's exactly how the Buc-ee's CEO sees it.
A Key Factor Buc-ee's Looks for in a Potential Location
The Buc-ee's CEO, Arch "Beaver" Aplin III, recently made headlines for naming off one of the key factors that plays a role in whether or not Buc-ee's sets up shop in a state.
In a video posted by Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Aplin revealed they prefer to set up in conservative states.

"We have a lot of opportunities. We're growing. We're building in a lot of places, but when you find a conservative, business-friendly state with a phenomenal workforce, it makes a difference," Aplin said.
"And I'm starting to realize life's too short to try to build in places that people don't appreciate what you're bringing versus a place like this, where people do appreciate what you're building."
Is Montana a Conservative State?
Now, this part can really depend on who you ask. And don't worry, I'm not here to pick a side, it's not about me.
According to a data map from Best Neighborhood, Montana is absolutely smothered in red leaving no question about the state's conservative status.

Even World Population Review lists Montana as a completely red state.
Does this mean we could be the future site of a Buc-ee's one day? Only time will tell but if the suits over at Buc-ee's.
