Morning Explosion Rocks Great Falls, Leads to Structure Fire

Great Falls Fire Rescue responded to a serious fire following reports of an "explosion" early this morning.

Crews responded to a fire at 8th Avenue South and 11th Street.

According to a report released from Great Falls Fire Rescue, emergency personnel were on scene of a structure fire around 4:30 AM this morning.

"Please avoid the area and use alternate routes to allow emergency personnel safe access to the scene," Great Falls Fire Rescue shared in their post, "Smoke may be visible from surrounding areas."

At the time of this publishing, authorities have not released additional information to what started the fire or if there was even an "explosion" as some reported.

A nearby resident captured the fire on his phone early this morning. Caleb Geiger shared the video with us along with his account of what happened.

"Everything was real quiet and then it was like the air was sucked out from the sky and then the eruption happened," Caleb shared with us.

The shocking video shows first responders responding to the large fire that lit up the Great Falls morning sky.

"I wanted video proof that everyone was alive and that it actually happened," Caleb shared with us.

First responders thanked the public for their understanding as they worked to sort out all of the details surrounding the fire.

"We appreciate your patience and cooperation as crews work to bring the incident under control. Additional information will be provided when available."
