Montana Officers Urge Residents to Check on Loved Ones
The holiday season can be one of the most wonderful times of year for many but for some, it can also be one of the most difficult times to endure. And while I'm not talking about money, it can play a role along with several other factors.
Great Falls Police Share An Important Message For The Holiday Season
I'll come right out and admit that I've dealt with mental health issues before - many of us have, and that's okay! While I love living in Montana with my wife and kids, the holiday season comes with some sprinkles of sadness when I think about missing my parents, siblings, and people I used to see during the holiday season.
For other people, the holiday blues can be triggered by anything from money, being homesick, or simply... being alone.
Great Falls police recently shared an important reminder about the holiday blues in a post to social media.
"Check on your people! Please, check in with friends and loved ones who are spending this season alone, or may be experiencing a first holiday after losing someone close," Great Falls police shared, "Across the US, every 11 minutes a life is lost to suicide."

Asking for help can be difficult for some but it's important to do. It's not a sign of weakness and opening up, even a little, can do wonders for your mental health.
