The idea of streaming your favorite shows in real time or playing games while on an airplane is becoming more of a reality every day.

Most major airlines offer Wi-Fi service that allows you to surf the web and stream programming.

From my experience, most of those Wi-Fi services are a little glitchy at times and borderline unreliable.

Well, my friends, at least for one major airline in the United States, that is about to change that.

United Airlines WIFI

United Airlines recently announced that it is teaming up with Starlink to provide fast and reliable satellite-based Internet services to all of its fleet.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Starlink service should begin as early as February for many United flights.
  • The service will be available on some Embraer E-175 aircraft.
  • By the end of 2025, the airline aims to have its entire two-cabin regional fleet equipped with Starlink.
  • Eventually, United plans to bring Starlink to every plane in its fleet.

Here's the cool thing: Starlink will be complementary to all MileagePlus® customers.

The Wi-Fi will allow you to stream your favorite shows, shop online, games, and much more.
