Great Falls Animal Shelter Will be Reopening Soon

• The Great Falls Animal Shelter has been in a temporary location in Black Eagle since February 2025
• The move was facilitated by important needed upgrades at the aging building
• The shelter also recently announced an important grant to help with new structures on the property

Great Falls Animal Shelter Will be Reopening Soon

If you have been to our local animal shelter in Great Falls as recently as the first of this year, you know exactly how badly it needed a facelift.  Well, if I am to be honest, it needed a major overhaul.

Thankfully that upgrade has been happening over the last couple of months and now the new facility upgrades are almost ready for the shelter to reveal all the great new things for animals in need.

Sewer Line Problems Lead to Power Line Problems in Great Falls

The shelter has faced plumbing problems for many years and finally in February of 2025, construction focused on backed up pipes within the foundation.  However, as construction continued, it was discovered that several power lines ran directly through the planned path for the new sewer line.

But despite challenges including weather and more, the Great Falls Animal Shelter is set to reopen in just a few short days.

Please Adopt if Possible in Your Community from a Local Shelter

The shelter in Great Falls has started a countdown to the big day coming on April 21, 2025.  Among the upgrades are a new front door to the facility and much more.

The GFAS also announced a new grant from the ASPCA that will help in building secure outdoor kennels, play yards, and meet-and-greet spaces that will enrich the lives of the pups.
