Montana Cooks – Never Do This in the Kitchen
We've all probably done it at some point in our cooking careers. Maybe more so as a new cook learning just how long to put heat to something. Or maybe it was because you suddenly had the munchies after a late-night gaming session with the crew.
Burnt food happens. You doubled the time you were supposed to leave it in the microwave and suddenly your mac n' cheese bowl is a now a charred mass with the smoke detector ringing.

The EMT veteran explains that leaving that charred food to cool and the smoke to clear is the better option.

After watching the video, it really had me thinking of things that I have thrown away that could have possibly been something that may catch fire. And while we have metal cans in our kitchen, it still made me wonder.
The biggest thing I had come to me was sort of odd. But I've also burnt my hand on several of them since we procured an instant coffee maker using "pods". Ever grabbed one right after its finished? Yikes! And I have just tossed them right on top of cardboard, napkins, paper towels, etc. Kind of scary when you think about it! What other common items just get tossed without thought but shouldn't be?
