
Check Out the Wild New Names for Montana’s Snowplows
In a time before the Internet, when the public was asked for an opinion, it required a little bit more work than just typing an answer and hitting the enter button. Either you did it in person or you needed to mail it.
I think it also limited the responses that were received. Now, anyone can give an opinion on any number of subjects. Including naming certain things. And let me say, Montana respondents didn't disappoint smashing the keys on what our snowplows should be called this winter.

For the upcoming 2025/2026 winter season, the Montana Department of Transportation asked residents to submit names for 20 new snowplows that will be keeping roadways clear this year.

Employees at the department, travelers of the state and anyone who followed the MDT of social media circles submitted names over the past few months, and now, the department has made an official release on those chosen names.
How Was This Name Not Chosen in Montana for a Plow?
As flakes begin to fall in Montana and roadways become frozen and snow covered, keep an eye out for these 20 new names (in no particular order) when they make their debut this year:

- Ron Brrrgundy
- Thaw Enforcement
- Blizzard of Oz
- Mr. Sandman
- Plowzilla
- Yeet Sleet
- Scoopy Doo
- Snow Down Move Over
- Scraping By

- Snowlene
- Friends in Snow Places

Not to detract from any of those names, was it just me that noticed that there wasn't an extremely well-known name that didn't make the list.
