- General Motors Company is recalling almost 600,000 vehicles
- The rigs affected are full size pickups and SUV's
- The V8 Engine can fail raising the risk of accidents and serious injury
General Motors Recalls Almost 600,00 Vehicles
According to CBS News, General Motors is recalling 597,630 of their full sized pickup trucks and SUVs.
The NTSB began an investigation when nearly 40 drivers reported engine failure in GM vehicles with L87 V8 engines.
According to the National Highway Transportation Association, "Manufacturing defects in the connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components "can lead to engine damage and engine failure."

- 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV
- Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban and Tahoe
- GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL

GM will have a mechanic inspect, and if needed, repair your engine for free. General Motors will send letters out to owners on June 9, 2025.

I just bought an SUV in December. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. But, not too long after I bought it, the heater went out, which was nice because it was the week it was 25 below. The rig before that? An older less cared for SUV and NOTHING went wrong. Just basic maintenance. You just never know.
