The Going-To-The-Sun Road Is Open For The Season In Glacier National Park
As of Monday, June 16, 2025, the Going-To-The-Sun Road has officially opened for the season in Glacier National Park.

Going-to-the-Sun Road is now fully open for the 2025 season. Visitors will be able to drive the entire 50-mile length of the road, and access Logan Pass from both West Glacier and St. Mary Entrances.
Things To Note This Early In The Season In Glacier Park
If you do decide to take the Going-To-The-Sun Road, remember
- It's going to be cold on the top
- It's going to be cold as you climb the mountain in your rig
- The water in Glacier National Park is literally ice cold. (The glacier part of the park)
- There could be ice and wind on top of Logan Pass. Standing on ice or snow is not recommended
- Highline Trail is closed due to snow conditions
Travelers Will Still Need A Vehicle Pass For The Going-To-The-Sun Road
If taking the west entrance near Apgar, from 7am to 3pm through September 28, 2025. If you get on to the Going-To-The-Sun from the east in St. Mary, you do NOT need a vehicle pass. To reserve your time to take one of the most beautiful drives in the world, click here.
