High Speed Chase Ends In Accident In Great Falls, Montana

Late in the afternoon of June 4, 2025 there was an officer involved critical incident in Great Falls that ended in a car wreck at 38th Street and Second Avenue North. The suspect, James Patrick Adam Dennis, 36 years old, is now in custody.

A Run-Down Of The Incident

  • A vehicle was stolen outside of Great Falls and was in line to enter city limits on the east side of town
  • Officers from both the police and sheriff's department were in pursuit as the vehicle entered Great Falls
  • After entering Great Falls, Dennis began firing a gun at the Great Falls Police Officers and Cascade County Sheriff Deputies
  • Dennis then crashed into a car at the intersection of 38th Street and Second Avenue North
  • Dennis was treated for injuries and Benefis and was later booked into the Cascade County Detention Center
  • The victims in the other vehicle were treated for minor injuries
  • Dennis is facing felony charges of theft, assault with a weapon, criminal endangerment, and assault on a peace officer

Law Enforcement Officers Are Looking For Witnesses To The Incident

Officers are conducting a joint investigation led by the Division of Criminal Investigations, a division of the Montana Department of Justice.

There is reason to believe the suspect fired his weapon at citizens in the area. If you have any information on that, or any other information relevant to the incident, you are asked to contact Detective Fleming with the Great Falls Police Department at 406.455.8519.
