Maybe one that is sort of abandoned, sort of populated, super creepy and really REALLY on the outskirts of, well, everything.

That town is St. Marie, Montana.

The Story of St. Marie, Montana

St. Marie is where the Glasgow Airforce Base used to stand, about 16 miles from the town of Glasgow. From 1957 to 1968, then again from 1971-1976 St. Marie was home to many Airforce members and their families.

When the base was decommissioned, on-base housing was offered to private citizens, many promoted as condos for retirees.

A few hundred residents have made St. Marie their home. Most of the housing units are abandoned and sit empty and rotting in St. Marie. This combination of maintained and abandoned buildings has turned St. Marie into a partial ghost town.

The airport's runway is still in use as a test site for Boeing aircraft.

I feel like this picture is the perfect representation of St. Marie:

Just look at how they have sided and put new shingles on exactly half of that condo. (What happens when half that building collapses?)

The town's housing is all under the management of the St. Marie Condominium Association. The condos are freakishly cheap in today's housing market. Looking on Realtor.com and Zillow, prices start at $19,900 for a 3 bed, one bath condo that needs a lot of work to 2 bed 1.5 bath that looks move-in ready for $50,000.

There Are No Services In St. Marie

There looks to be a post office, but it appears to be a contract post office. Other than that, there are no services in the town of St. Marie. You'd have to drive into Glasgow for that.
