There's no better place to spend a summer than in the beautiful state of Montana. Compared to a lot of states, temperatures stay quite a bit cooler during the summer months. Even if it does get hot, you have plenty of places to jump in the water and cool off.

One of my favorite things to do once the snow finally melts is hit the road and explore all of the beauty that Montana has to offer. Montana is a huge state, so there's definitely not a shortage of places to explore.

Picking the top scenic drive in Montana isn't easy, but the folks over at Reader's Digest put together a list of the best bucket list ideas in each state and chose Going-To-The-Sun-Road in Glacier National Park as their pick for Montana. Personally, I have driven it many times, and the beauty never ceases to amaze me. If you haven't driven Going-To-The-Sun Road, you should add it to your bucket list immediately.

There's another beautiful scenic drive that doesn't get talked about nearly as much, and that's the Beartooth Highway. It's nearly 69 miles long and runs between Red Lodge and Cooke City. Similar to Going-To-The-Sun, it's only open on a seasonal basis. Due to the high elevation, the Beartooth receives a ton of snow. The highway reaches an elevation of 10,947 feet. In comparison, Going-To-The-Sun road only reaches an elevation of 6,646 feet. According to Only In Your State, the Beartooth Highway is one of the best road trips you can take in America.

If you have the time, I would highly recommend planning a trip on either of the roads listed above. My friend and I took a drive on the Beartooth Highway last summer, and she claimed that it was far more impressive than the Grand Canyon.
