It’s been a challenging year for farmers, marked by falling crop prices, tariffs, and an increasingly uncertain foreign market.

Montana Farmers Union Voice Concerns
Walter Schweitzer, president of the Montana Farmers Union, told the Montana Free Press that many of the issues farmers face “today are almost wholly caused by tariffs.” He added:

A recent study from the Center for Strategic and International Studies found that U.S. agricultural exports to China have dropped by 73%, leading to more than $6.8 billion in losses since January.
