Montana Housing Costs Compared To The Rest Of The U.S.
Turns out, yeah, it’s a Montana problem, but it’s also an American problem, at least according to the experts.
WalletHub recently broke down which states are spending the most on housing, whether that’s buying or renting.
What they looked at is how much of a person’s income is going toward housing. And if you’ve been feeling like things are getting out of control here, well, this kind of backs that up.
Where Montana Ranks For Housing Affordability
According to their data, Montana homeowners are spending around 30% of their income on housing, while renters are at about 31%.
What’s interesting is where that puts us. For homeowners, Montana ranks 9th highest in America for income going toward housing. Renters are a little lower on the list, coming in at 18th.
Still, if things keep trending this way, you have to wonder how anyone is going to make it work on a single income, and that goes for renters too.
