Why Are Montanans Obsessed With California Chains?

I'm always on the lookout for a story to write about, so I scan the internet daily looking for one.

When I came across one from a sister station in Missoula, it made me wonder, why do Montanans want what California has so bad?

Complaining About Californians, Craving Their Food

Let me explain: our sister station, The Blaze, posted a story about Idaho and Washington getting an In-N-Out Burger, and they wondered when Montana would be next.

Reading the comments on Facebook broke my brain. We complain about Californians coming to our state, but we want to eat what they eat?

Why would we do that when we have perfectly good burger joints here in Montana, like Burger Dive in Billings, The Roadhouse Diner in Great Falls, or Naps Grill in Hamilton?

Do We Really Want Montana To Look Like California?

It's not just burgers either; it's always big box stores or chains that I hear people wishing for.

I get that we don't need another casino, tire shop, or mattress shop, but do we really want what California has?

I just can't wrap my head around people clamoring for a fast food restaurant from California but not wanting anybody moving here from that state.

Plus, I would imagine Californians moving here and craving In-N-Out is what will eventually bring one to the Big Sky.

So maybe you can't have your burger and eat it too.
