Will This Montana Winter Forecast Be Correct?

Depending on where you live in Montana, you've gotten to experience some unusually warm weather these past few weeks.

However, some places in Montana have already seen snow, and it's only a matter of time until the whole state is covered in it.

Harsh Winters Are Nothing New For Montana

Montana is known for having some pretty harsh winters full of bitter cold temperatures and plenty of snowfall.

Personally, I prefer a more mild winter; I want a white Christmas with temperatures never going below zero.

To me that would be a perfect Montana winter, but sadly, I won't be getting my perfect winter this year, at least not according to AccuWeather.

AccuWeather’s 2025-2026 Winter Forecast For Montana

They have just released their 2025-2026 winter forecast, and those of you who love getting out on the slopes or going ice fishing should be happy.

AccuWeather actually mentions Montana by name, saying the following about the overall forecast:

A snowy winter is predicted across portions of the Midwest, a swath from the Plains to the Ohio Valley, and areas of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.

They're predicting the western half of the state will have above-average snowfall this year, and it also appears we won't be getting any reprieve come early 2026 either.

How Accurate Will This Montana Winter Forecast Be?

They mention that by February, states to the south of us will start to experience near record highs, but those of us in Montana will still continue to see snow and cold temps during this month.

Now, whether their predictions are correct is something we'll have to wait and see.
