That's according to the website 24/7 Wall Street, which recently published an article entitled "The Most Affordable Place to Live in Each State."
Montana's Most Affordable Place To Live
24/7 Wall Street didn't narrow down the towns that were the most affordable, but instead went with the counties in each state that were most affordable.
See if you know what county they are talking about by these statistics:
- Est. cost of living in county: 16.9% less expensive than US avg.
- Est. cost of living in state: 9.7% less expensive than US avg.
- Median household income: $51,791 ($66,341 statewide)
- Median home value: $172,000 ($305,700 statewide)
The county they say is the most affordable is Chouteau County, which is home to Fort Benton, Geraldine, and Big Sandy, to name a few.
