Tragic Shooting Shakes Anaconda
Friday, August 1st, 2025, is a day that rocked the small town of Anaconda and saddened the rest of the state.
That was the day 4 people were killed in a tragic shooting that happened at the Owl Bar and also began a week long manhunt that appears to now be over.

Suspect Is Now In Custody
Michael Brown is the suspect in the Anaconda shooting that happened last week.
While details of his arrest have not been made public yet, according to KRTV News, Lewis & Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton confirmed on Friday afternoon that Brown was taken into custody.
The week long hunt for the suspect concentrated mostly on the mountains just west of Anaconda near Stumptown Road.
Questions Still Remain, While A Town Rebuilds
While authorities are hoping to find a reason and motive for the killings, Michael Brown's niece, Clare Boyle, said that her uncle had been suffering from PTSD along with schizophrenia, perhaps from his time serving in the US Army.
She also gave a heartfelt statement to the folks living in Anaconda.
“My heart breaks for this town. There is no amount of apology or words that could ever describe how sorry I am and how I feel for these families, my own included.”
