In Montana, we take pride in our resilience to endure the harsh winter climate, which sets apart the less hardy newcomers from those truly deserving of calling Montana home.

While I don't particularly enjoy the cold winters in Montana, there are some surprising benefits to living in a place where the wind can sting your face.

Some Wildlife Makes Us Appreciate The Cold

This weekend while scrolling social media, I came across a story about male tarantulas that spend a couple months each year crawling all over looking for a mate.

From September to October these male tarantulas trek all over Colorado looking for a female companion.

I might not be afraid of spiders, but I don't think I would feel comfortable seeing male tarantulas casually speed dating in my neighborhood.
