When it comes to fine dining in Montana, we mostly think of steakhouses.

Lolo Creek Steakhouse, Beef N Bone, Land of Magic Steakhouse, or Lindey's all come to mind, but what about fine dining in a hotel?

A Hotel Restaurant So Good, It Outscores the Classics

Living in Great Falls, there are two hotel restaurants that immediately come to my mind.

First is the Union Grille in Fort Benton, which is inside one of the oldest luxury hotels in the state.

Second is the Clark & Lewies in Great Falls, inside the O'Haire Motor Inn, which is famous for their tiki bar and mermaids swimming in the pool.

However, neither one of those places is what LoveFood, a food blog website, says is the best hotel restaurant in Montana.

This Hotel Restaurant Might Be Montana’s Best Kept Secret

I'll be honest, I had never heard of this restaurant located inside the Sage Lodge, a luxury hotel just outside of Yellowstone National Park.

And it's not just one restaurant either, as LoveFood explains their reasoning for picking the Fireside Room as the best hotel restaurant in Montana:

Sage Lodge is an idyllic getaway in the Paradise Valley, around a half-hour drive from Yellowstone National Park. There are two restaurants to choose from here, but it’s the relaxed indoor-outdoor vibe and majestic mountain vistas that just swing the Fireside Room into pole position. There is never a bad time to visit, with breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch, and dinner all offered, plus a cool cocktail program to sample. Much of the produce incorporated into the dishes is sourced in Montana, from Flathead Lake trout in the north to Wilcoxson’s ice cream in the south.
