Small Town, Big Honors: Montana Shines on USA Today’s List
10Best is the flagship awards program with USA Today that each year runs a voting contest for various categories called the Reader's Choice Awards.
Think of topics like Best Zoo, Best Ski Town, Best Beaches, and, of course, the one we're talking about today, Best Small Town in the West.
The criteria to be one of the winners was just to be in the West and have a population of less than 25,000, which means it could be ALMOST any town in Montana, so which town is the winner?
More Than Just a Pretty Place on the Lake
Coming in as the 7th Best Small Town in the West, we've got Bigfork, MT, and here is what USA Today had to say about this wonderful Montana town:
Situated on the shores of Flathead Lake, Bigfork offers a blend of Montana's rugged beauty and small-town charm. This gem is known for its vibrant arts scene, where visitors can explore numerous galleries and enjoy performances at the renowned Bigfork Summer Playhouse, a stalwart of local entertainment. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the nearby Jewel Basin, a prime destination for scenic mountain hiking. For dining, Bigfork impresses with waterfront restaurants, locally crafted brews, and regional specialties such as bison.
It's not just Bigfork that is a charming small town here in Montana, as you'll see from the gallery below.
