Is Chicago Really Safer Than Any Town In Montana?

I think most Montana residents are able to recognize that living in Montana we're pretty safe on a day to day basis.

Sure there are some problems with crime like property theft and drug use in Montana, but we've got it pretty good here under the Big Sky.

That's why it's so confusing when I see that Chicago ranks above ANY town in Montana when it comes to being safe.

It's not just Chicago either, it's San Francisco and New York City as well as other major US cities.

I don't want to demonize those towns, but we've all heard the news, along with seeing videos online that make it hard believe they are safer than say Billings.

Not One Montana Town Made This Safe List

Every two years since 2015 the website Far & Wide along with the The Economist Intelligence Unit have put out a list of the safest cities in the world.

They look at a number of factors, such as digital security, health security, infrastructure security, personal security and environmental security to compile the list.

When it comes to America, you'll find 6 cities on that list, and not one of the them are from Montana.

Could the absence of Montana towns on this list be a good thing? Perhaps if it means less people keep moving here.

Like every state, there are always going to be a few towns that make us think twice about moving there or deciding where to raise our kiddos. But like I always say, "negative yells and positive whispers". The same goes for crime and violence; we hear about all the drug busts, assaults, break-ins, etc. It's not very often we hear about all the great things right?
