I love the 4th of July, but that's because deep down I'm a bit of a pyromaniac who loves fireworks.
However, not everyone appreciates the noise, smell, and mess that fireworks can create during the celebration.
To ensure that everyone can enjoy the celebration, the city of Great Falls has set specific regulations regarding the sale and use of fireworks. So, when can you start celebrating your freedom in Montana?
Break The Rules, Pay The Fine: Fireworks Fines In Great Falls Explained
Very quickly we want to remind you that these rules are for inside the city limits of Great Falls only; they have no control over sales happening in Cascade County but still outside of city limits.
Per City Code §9.9.90/Ordinance 2965, the sale and discharge of fireworks cannot happen before the 2nd of July or after the 4th and only between the hours of 8am and midnight.
Should you not heed this warning, you will be charged with a misdemeanor and fined.
If the police need to return, the costs will increase, as outlined in the penalties for each offense.
- 1st Offense - $100
- 2nd Offense - $200
- 3rd Offense - $300
- 4th Offense - $1000
