Can You Legally Leave Your Child Home Alone in Montana?
The Home Alone franchise is one of my family's favorites, and why not? It's an absolute classic, especially the second one. I can't tell you how many times my oldest has tried to set "traps" inspired by the films... except the traps were apparently made for me, not the bad guys.
Can You Imagine 'Home Alone' Taking Place In 2025?
Now, this isn't to make you or anyone feel old but... Home Alone came out 35 years ago! Can you imagine the kind of TikToks that little Kevin would have posted? What Age Can You Leave Your Child Home Alone In Montana?
Now, maybe I'm crazy but I'm going to out on a limb and say that most of us wouldn't be in a situation like the one in Home Alone. There's not many of us who would (or could) pay for a trip to France for an entire family tree.
But, there are many of us who might want to go to the gym to get a healthy break from the kids. Some people might want to go to the store without having to worry about little Peter grabbing every item in every aisle to throw into the basket.

So, if you decide to leave little Peter at home by himself for 30 minutes but he's only six years old... could you legally do that?
Yes and no.
According to the Montana government, there is no set age limit for leaving your child home alone, but that doesn't mean you can just leave your children home at any age.
If you put your children in a situation where they could be in danger, you could find yourself in trouble with the state of Montana according to Title 45, Chapter 5, Part 6, 45-5-622.
