Military Exercise East of Great Falls

According to the Air National Guard, the road closure between Great Falls and Belt is due to a military exercise.

According to the Air National Guard, the exercise is to...

"To build experience working alongside other state and local agencies, ensuring the Montana Air National Guard and partner agencies are equipped with non-routine technical skills to serve the state and nation in emergency responses."

The Air National Guard has not confirmed this information, but word on the street is that the exercise will consist of landing a C130 along Highway 89.

I heard rumblings about this exercise quite some time ago, and numerous people who live along Highway 89 have heard the same information.

Please keep in mind that this does not mean you should go out and be a looky-loo and cause problems.
