• Great Falls Public Schools are getting ready for the 2025/2026 school year beginning on August 27, 2025
• New calendars, job fairs and new hires are beginning to be announced as the new school year approaches
• The GFPS has also named a new Director of Business Operations for the district to begin this fall

Great Falls Public Schools Make Several New Announcements

Summer temperatures aren't the only thing that are heating up in Great Falls and across many towns and cities in Montana.  The school season will be here before you know it, but new exciting new announcements within our district are happening right now.

A new calendar has been released, new teachers are being announced almost daily, and staff are already beginning to get back into the school buildings to begin all the work that leads up to the big first day of school.

GFPS Announce New Director of Business Operations for the District

Great Falls Public Schools have announced that Luke Diekhans has been chosen as the New Director of Business Operations for the district.  Diekhans is the current Director of Human Resources and will be transferring into the new role effective at the conclusion of the extended contract of the current Director of Business Operations.

In accepting the new position, Diekhans stated that:

This opportunity continues to allow for my professional growth and a wealth of new learning. No matter what my position in GFPS is, I will remain committed to serving our students, staff, and community with integrity and dedication. I look forward to contributing in new ways that continue to strengthen our District’s Strategic Plan.

According to the release by the GFPS "Mr. Diekhans is starting his 27th year with Great Falls Public Schools. He has served as a classroom teacher, Environmental Education Coordinator, Riverview Elementary Principal, and Director of Human Resources."

Job Fair Coming for Those Interested in Working Within the School System

The district also announced that a job fair will be coming up on August 19, 2025, from 11am to 1pm at the Paris Gibson Education Center located at 2400 Central Avenue in Great Falls.

The event will feature positions that are currently open within the school system.  Jobs available in the coming year include:

• Crossing Guards
• Substitute Teachers
• Teachers' Aides
• Food Service

GFPS recommends filling out your application for employment online here before attending the job fair.  Applicants have the opportunity to have any questions answered at the event and possibly be hired on the spot for a position within the school system.
