Everyone Feels the Sting of Grocery Prices
If there is one thing that unites all people regardless of their economic level, it's the price of groceries.

Grocery Costs In Montana: A Major Monthly Burden
For most families in Montana, I'd wager their biggest bill each month, outside of their mortgage or rent, is their grocery bill.
Most people stick to a food budget, and as such, might make multiple trips to make sure they get the most food at the lowest prices.
It's why NetCredit decided to look at what each state's most affordable grocery store was, and if you thought it would be Walmart, you are in for a shock.
And The Most Affordable Grocery Store In Montana Is...
The way NetCredit came up with their list is they put together a list of major brands that you can find at over 2,000 different stores in America.
Then utilizing Instacart, they checked prices at stores delivering to the most populated zip code in each state.
Finally, they averaged out each price per item at every grocery store chain in the state and compared that to the average across all chains in every state.
After all that was done, they found that the most affordable grocery store in Montana was Target.
Now a little clarification here: one reason you won't see a major retailer like Walmart on here is because Walmart doesn't use Instacart, nor does another well-known affordable store in Montana, WinCo, so that could explain why Target comes out on top.
