Ask people to describe Montana, and I doubt anyone is talking about the plains that dominate the eastern half of the state.

That's not to say eastern Montana doesn't have beauty, because it absolutely does; it's just that mountains are the first thing people think of when they hear Montana.

Montana Is Full Of Wonderful Mountain Towns

It really should be no shock that a Montana town landed on their list. Thanks to the Rocky Mountain Front, Montana sees some of the highest changes of elevation within a short distance anywhere in North America.

Plenty of tourists when planning their trips to the Treasure State start and end by visiting mountain towns.

Well, the travel website Thrillist says that a certain mountain town in Montana is one of the best vacation destinations in America.

What Is The Best Mountain Town In Montana?

Thrillist knew that there weren't mountain towns in every state, so instead of putting out a list of the "best" from every state, they picked just 15 all across America.

Their list, entitled "America's Best Mountain Towns Have Beauty, Adventure, and a Frozen Dead Guy Festival," has deemed Livingston, Montana, to be one of the 15 mountain towns to visit.

Not only is Livingston a great mountain town, it's also one of the most affordable in Montana.
