History Of The Term Redneck
The word redneck came into common usage around the 1930's, and it was used to belittle those considered lower-class or working class.
The name derived from the fact these people were hard working self sufficient people who often worked their own lands, and as they did their necks would burn and become red.
Sounds to me that being a redneck aligns closely with traditional Montana values.
