When it comes to fishing, the Treasure State is pretty much a dream come true, as we've got both cold-water and warm-water fishing, so no matter what season it is, you can cast your line.
Whether you’re coming here to go fly fishing, get your boat out on the lake, or just cast a line from the shore, Montana has all kinds of ways for you to fish.
That doesn't even begin to mention the variety of fish you'll find in our rivers, lakes, and streams, such as rainbow, brown, brook, and cutthroat trout, along with pike and perch, just to name a few.
Montana’s Fishing Industry Brings In Big Tourism Money
While we might bemoan certain things, such as "Yellowstone" shining a light on Montana, it's hard to argue that when Montana gets in the spotlight like that, tourism dollars come pouring in.
Look at something like the movie "A River Runs Through It"; when it was released in 1992, the fly fishing industry grew by 60%, and then grew another 60% the following year as well.
To this day Montana remains one of the biggest fishing destinations, and because of that, we make a lot of money on out-of-state fishing licenses, see just how many millions that is in the gallery below.👇
