What is a prop bet?
If you aren't aware of what a prop bet is, it is short for proposition bet. It's a bet that you place that is not tied to the the final score or the winning team. With the Super Bowl you can bet on almost ANYTHING, and we've gone through and found some of the wildest ones.
National Anthem
You can bet on how long the National Anthem will take Chris Stapleton. This is an over/under bet. For those not familiar with what means, over means higher or longer in this case, while under is below or shorter. The length is set at anywhere between 119.5 and 125 seconds this year.
Coin Toss
This is one of the most cut and dry bets, you either bet it's heads or tails. It's literally a coin flip on if you'll win or lose. You can, however, also bet on who wins the coin toss.
Halftime
Some of the prop bets for the halftime performance include how many songs Rihanna will sing, her first song, and her last song. You can also bet on her hair color or outfit color. There is even a prop bet on who will perform with her.
Gatorade Bath
It's tradition for the head coach of the winning team to get a Gatorade bath. You can bet on what color the Gatorade will be when it's dumped in celebration. If that's not enough for you, how about betting if it's an offensive or defensive player that does the dumping?
Commercials
Millions watch the Super Bowl each year and for many, the best part of the ordeal are the commercials. One the prop bets you can make when it comes to commercials is which brand airs the first commercial.
MVP
Finally you can bet on the MVP of the game. No I don't mean who will win the MVP, which you can do as well. For this prop bet you can bet on who the MVP thanks first in his speech. Will it be his team, his family, his coach, or the fans? Perhaps he will thank God first and foremost- and you can bet on that.
Betting on prop bets can make the game fun, even in the case of a blow out. However, I think I'll just watch the game and lament that once again my Minnesota Vikings aren't playing in it.
