What High School In Montana Is The Best?

School is now a full two months into the 2024-2025 school year, and students, teachers, and parents should be fully into their school routines.

So now is as good a time as any for us to take a look and see what schools are considered to be the best of the best for educating our kids.

Who Ranked Our Montana Schools?

There are plenty of websites that will rank schools, but for this list we've relied on US News, who each year puts out a list that highlights the best schools in each state across America.

This list will only include public schools, so keep that in mind when looking through this list, or if you are using it to decide whether or not to transfer your student to a higher-performing school.

How Did They Get Their Rankings?

US News used the following six ranking indicators that were weighted to get their rankings:

• College Readiness 30%
  The portion of seniors who took and earned a score on an Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) exam.
• State Assessment Proficiency 20%
• State Assessment Performance 20%
• Underserved Student Performance 10%
  Scores on state assessments among students who are Black, Hispanic, and from low-income households compared to nonunderserved students.
• College Curriculum Breadth 10%
  The CCBI is calculated among a school's seniors from the percentage who took, and the percentage who earned qualifying scores on, multiple AP or IB exams.
• Graduation Rate 10%
