USPS Warns Of A Growing Delivery Scam
With almost every single online retailer having a special sale going on right now, the United States Postal Service is going to be very busy in the coming days and months.
That is why they are reminding people to be wary of any packages they didn't order, as it could be part of what the USPS calls a "brushing scam."
Thankfully there is an insanely easy thing to do in which you can protect yourself from being scammed by this scummy tactic.
The “Brushing Scam” Targeting Front Porches Across Big Sky Country
First off, this scam works by the scammer sending you an "unwanted" package.
People have reported receiving robot vacuums, Bluetooth speakers, and even some "naughty panties."
Here is the good thing about "brushing scams": the USPS says to do nothing about these packages.
Seriously, do not do anything with it other than keep it, throw it away, or return it to sender.
If you open it and find a QR code, don't scan it, as that's a new version of this scam called "Quishing," which sends you to a real-looking site but is just there to get your information.
The last bit of advice is if you have received one of these scam packages, it would be a good idea to change your passwords and watch your bank accounts, as it's possible all of your information is already in the wrong hands.
