Who Is Serving Up The Best Tacos In Montana?

Pizza, burgers, and tacos are 3 foods that I think, when it comes down to it, everyone can agree are amazing.

The thing about tacos, though, is that there are so many different varieties and ways to prepare them that saying one way or place is better than another can start an argument.

Is Taco Treat The Best Place To Get Tacos?

There are plenty of chain places to get tacos in Montana, such as Taco Johns or Taco Bell, but the one that everyone in Montana seems to love is the homegrown restaurant, Taco Treat.

Whether it's nostalgia from their childhood or wanting to support a local business, people are very passionate about their Taco Treat.

Yet one website that sought to find the best tacos in each state went a different route and said the best tacos in Montana are found in Whitefish, which is not home to a Taco Treat location.

When You Think Tacos, Do You Think Whitefish?

The review website Yelp put together their list for the "Best Taco Spot in Every State" for 2024.

The list was generated using reviews from patrons, along with relevant keywords, which were also weighted by the number of reviews a restaurant got.

When it came to Montana, they say the best place to go for tacos is Jalisco Cantina in Whitefish, and they had this to say about the food:

It’s one thing to make your own tortillas, but this upscale restaurant even grows its own cilantro. Owner David Pike says he’s focused on creating a sit-down Mexican restaurant devoted to fresh, wholesome foods. That includes making a large portion of the menu gluten-free, from the “good and light” pescado tacos (masa-fried dorado topped with jicama-cabbage slaw and chipotle crema) to the “robust” carne asada taco (grilled tri-tip topped with Chihuahua cheese and pickled Fresno chiles).

These tacos sound pretty boujee, so do you agree with the selection that Yelp picked for Montana, or do you believe another place serves up better tacos? Let us know through our app or email me your favorites.
