
Officer Involved Shooting Leaves One Dead in Phillipsburg, MT
Another scary incident involving law enforcement in Montana has led to one man dead after brandishing a weapon at an establishment and then fleeing in a vehicle.
Now the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is leading the way into an altercation with law enforcement after a brief chase involving the suspect.

Officer Involved Shooting Leaves One Dead in Phillipsburg, MT
In reports through the Montana Department of Justice, the incident began in Phillipsburg, Montana around 4pm at the Sunshine Station bar. The suspect entered the bar and began threatening patrons of the establishment.

The suspect then left the bar and was later located by law enforcement. After a brief pursuit by deputies, they were able to stop the vehicle on Highway 1 in the area. Once stopped, the suspect exited his vehicle, brandishing a weapon at officers.
Deputy Fires Service Weapon - Killing Suspect, Investigation Ongoing
After the suspect pointed his weapon at a deputy, the officer "discharged his duty weapon at the suspect and killed him" according to the report. No officers were injured during the incident.
The incident remains under investigation at this time; neither the officer's name nor decedent's name have been released. The officer has been placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues with DCI and the state of Montana Department of Justice.
