Everyone knows that Montana is full of small towns, and they are wonderful hidden gems.
Yet there is one town under the Big Sky whose population is anything but big; in fact, it's population is just 1.

Is The Population Really One In This Montana Town?
The website World Population Review is who is claiming the population of this small town stands at just one person.
However, Wikipedia says this town now has a population of 9, which would mean an 800% increase.
We're not sure who to trust, but either way, there are some pretty neat historical facts about this town regardless of their population size.

The Montana Town With A Population Of One Is...
Again, we're going by the World Population Review, but they say that Goldcreek, Montana, is the only town in Montana with just one resident living there.
So what do we know about Goldcreek? Well, according to the Visit MT website, this is the first location where gold was found in Montana; however, there wasn't enough for it to be mined.
It is also located near where the "golden spike" was driven into the ground that completed the Northern Pacific Railway on September 8, 1883.
So while the population total might be disputed, what can't be is the historical importance of one of, if not the smallest, town in Montana.
