Beware, Montana’s Most Deadly Insect Is Found In Your Garage
What is Montana's most deadly insect?
You may think I'm being a bit hyperbolic by using the word "deadly" in the headline of this article, but I promise you I am not.
1 bite from this insect is powerful enough that it can kill you. Their bite is 15 times that of a rattlesnake.
Thankfully this insect isn't aggressive and will rarely bite unless provoked.
However, if you find you've been bitten by one get to the hospital immediately. The effects can be felt within 20 minutes and the venom affect your nervous system.
So what is this dangerous killer lurking in Montana?
Black Widow Spider
More specifically the FEMALE black widow spider. The male spider's mouth is to small to pierce the skin and deliver any venom.

You might never see a black widow, but if you've got a cluttered garage it's possible they're in there. Thankfully they are easy to identify with their red hour glass shaped mark on their abdomen.
Most adults will experience pain and muscle cramps when bitten, however, small children or the elderly are more at risk of death from one of these bites.
Other dangerous spiders in Montana
This next spider is one you won't find too often in your home, but could still cause you some pain should you find yourself bitten by one.
Yellow Sac Spider
These brightly colored spiders are found in trees and bushes, but it's not out of the question for them to come inside either.
Spotting one of these spiders is a bit harder as they do their hunting at night; so, unless you're actively searching for them, they keep pretty well hidden.
While both of these spiders are more likely than not to leave you alone, just remember to take a bite from them seriously and get them checked out immediately.
