This Beautiful Lake Named Prettiest In Montana, But Not The One You’d Think
This Montana Lake Just Stole the Spotlight
OK, Montana is never going to be Minnesota with the land of 10,000 lakes, nor will it be one of the states that can lay claim to the Great Lakes.
What we do have, however, is one of the prettiest lakes in America, but it's probably not the one that first came to mind.

When I first moved to Montana, I couldn't wait to get to Glacier National Park.
It took me about a year to get there, but the wait was worth it, and in my opinion, one of the best parts of Glacier was Lake McDonald.
Named one of the clearest lakes in America, it finds itself on lists like the one Reader's Digest just put out, except this time, it's another Montana lake getting some attention.
Sorry, Lake McDonald—You’re Pretty, But Not Prettiest
If Lake McDonald was your first guess for the prettiest lake in Montana, then this lake was probably your second.
It's the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi (at least in the lower 48 states) and a popular spot for locals and tourists when it comes to swimming, fishing, or boating.
Plus it's home to the famous Flessie.
We're of course talking Flathead Lake which Reader's Digest named prettiest in Montana.
So while we might not have 10,000 lakes to choose from, those we do have to choose from are among the best and prettiest in the world.
