Who Is The Highest Paid Person At The University Of Montana?

A few years back I saw a info graph that showed the highest paid public employee in all 50 states.

If memory serves me right, Montana was only one of maybe two or three states that the highest paid person WASN'T a coach of either the college basketball or football team.

That is still the case today at the University of Montana.

Recently the Montana Kaimin, the student run independent news paper for the UM, published the 25 highest paid employees at the University.

The highest paid coach, football head coach Bobby Hauck, isn't even in the top 10 of the highest paid.

Women Make Gains In Employment Numbers.

Another interesting fact is the amount of females on it.

24% of the list are women, and that could go even higher in future years according to UM spokesperson Dave Kuntz

Kuntz said he expects that gender proportions on the list of 25 people to 'change significantly' in the next few years.

Science and medicine dominate the list as 64% on the list of 25 are involved in one of those sectors of the school.

College Of Arts & Media and College of Education Absent From List

You also won't see any names from the College of Arts and Media or the Phyllis J. Washington College of Education on the list of highest paid.

If you're wondering how are the salaries for these people determined, Dave Kuntz offered this explanation,

'There are lots of things that go into when salaries get high. Each circumstance is different, some of these people have been here for a long time or are in positions that are in very high demand or have a higher barrier of entry. Other salaries, like the president, are set by the Board of Regents.'
