Here in Montana, we're living on borrowed time. I don't mean Yellowstone exploding or anything like that. I mean snow.

It's Been Awhile Since It Hasn't Snowed Until November In Montana

I feel like we've has an actual real-life Fall this year and it's been kind of neat. Usually Montana goes from Summer to Fall for a week or 2, then usually a brutal jump into winter. This year, it's actually Fall Y'all.

When the weather is this nice for this long, it makes it really easy to miss some places in your home that have a chilly leak, simply because it hasn't been that chilly.

Seven Reasons Your House Might Be Chilly This Winter

According to Huffington Post, it's usually a window causing the problem in any given home. In fact, they sight windows at 30 percent of the chill makers. There are other crafty little spaces in your home that might be bringing on the chill.

Window A/C Unit Left Installed

  • If you can't bring it in, cover it. There are weatherproof indoor and outdoor covers that can keep out bugs, mold and keep cold air from coming into your home

Vents Are Closed In The House

  • If you keep asking yourself why it's so cold in a room or the whole house, you may want to go on a vent check

The Radiator Isn't Working Right

  • If your radiator is taking a long time to heat up, it's time to bring in the radiator guy and have them go over it
  • Check and make sure furniture or something isn't blocking the heat from the radiator from heating up your space

There's Something Wrong With Your Furnace

  • Maybe your filters need to be changed. Maybe lines need to be cleared. It's always a good idea to call your furnace guy and have them do maintenance. Just last month, when the repair guy was working on my furnace, he compared it to an oil change

Use Curtains To Your Advantage

  • Open them in the day to let the sunshine warm your home and close them at night to help seal in the heat

Lay On The Throw Rugs

  • If it's super cold when you walk your floor bare-footed, throw down some cozy rugs. If you want to level up on the throw rugs, throw down a rug pad first.

Check All Of Your Doors To Outside

  • Make sure your doors are properly sealed. Even if you're throwing down an old blanket or towel to stop the draft from underneath the door
