Each year, sadly, businesses will close, right or wrong; it's just the way capitalism works in America.
There are lots of reasons a business can close, from shifting customer preferences to ease of online shopping making brick and mortar stores obsolete, and recently one downtown Great Falls business has announced that they will be closing down.

Some businesses close, and we might not even notice they have gone away until months later.
Others, once they close, they leave a hole in our community that can go years before we finally come to accept it.
Let's go down memory lane and take a look back at 3 businesses that I feel Great Falls still is missing today.
Hastings Entertainment
This business is the one that I miss the most, and I have a feeling most people would agree.

The ease of media streaming has made it so not just Hastings, but businesses like Musicland (later Sam Goody), Hollywood Video, and Blockbuster have all closed in Great Falls.
Zandy's
When I first moved to Great Falls and was just getting started in my radio career, a bag of burgers fed me for pretty cheap.

When kids used to cruise up and down Central Ave., this was the place to gather and socialize for many youth in Great Falls.
Radio Shack
This one might not be the most missed business in Great Falls, but speaking for myself, as a bit of a techno-geek, I miss it in the mall.

These are just a few stores that are no longer part of Great Falls, and while we know nothing lasts forever, that doesn't mean we can't be sad they are no longer around.
